Songs for ONSEN RYOKAN YUEN SAPPORO

音楽を使った空間デザイン。
UDS株式会社が手がける「ONSEN RYOKAN 由縁 札幌」の1F レセプション、2F 温泉ラウンジの四季の音楽。

ブランドとしての統一感を出すため、由縁新宿で行なった「ひとつの楽器のみで四季を表現する」「ピアノの同モチーフを用い、レセプションはモノトーン、温泉ラウンジはハーモニーに仕上げる」という音楽コンセプトを引き継いだ。

楽曲構成は、四季に応じた「北海道大学植物園」「円山」「札幌市内」の自然や動物、またアイヌ音楽などから着想を得たフレーズを散りばめ、北海道/札幌ならではの音楽表現を目指し、地域に由来する素材を落とし込んだホテルデザインとの親和性を持たせることで、複層的でサイトスペシフィックな空間を作った。

また、1F レセプションに隣接するレストラン「夏下冬上」と楽曲の調性を合わせ、ふたつのスペースを行き来する際にも音楽のグラデーションが生じるように演出した。

Music for the Four Seasons at the 1st floor reception and 18th floor onsen lounge of "ONSEN RYOKAN YUEN SAPPORO" designed by UDS Ltd.

In order to create a sense of unity as a "YUEN brand", they inherited YUEN SHINJUKU's musical concepts of "Express each season using only one instrument" and "Basic piano's motif is same for the reception and the lounge, and the reception is monotone and lounge is harmony."

They aimed to express music unique to Hokkaido by sprinkling phrases inspired by the nature of "Botanic Garden Hokkaido University," "Maruyama," and "Sapporo City," as well as Ainu music, according to the four seasons, and we created a site-specific space with an affinity with hotel design.

In addition, they matched the tonality of the music with the restaurant "KAKATOJO" adjacent to the reception on the 1st floor, and produced a gradation of music when customers went back and forth between the two spaces.
