​

複数の音楽/スピーカーを使った空間デザイン。
新潟駅の都市型サウナ「sauna 100（サウナハンドレッド）」の音楽。

​​​

​音楽のコンセプトは「音楽のととのい」「新潟の街や自然」「静けさ」。

新潟の街や自然、サウナ～水風呂～外気浴のサイクル、内装デザインなどから着想を得て6曲制作。

 

「音が流れていることで集中できる・静けさを感じられるような楽曲」「街や自然との繋がりを感じられるような楽曲」など、この場所ならではの音楽がそれぞれズレ続けながらも空間で調和しながら混ざり合うことで、各空間がシームレスにつながっているように感じられる音楽体験を目指した。

 

＜#1 / バーラウンジ＞
トランペット、ドラム、アコースティックギター、バイオリンなどを使用。新潟のジャズの文脈をイメージしたトランペットや、会話が弾んだり、お酒が進むようなリズムやパーカッションを入れた落ち着きと、温もりのある楽曲。

 

＜#2 / 更衣室＞
エレクトリックギター、クラリネット、ピアノ、ドラムなどを使用。新潟市内の町並みの様子や室内デザインのカラーや質感を音楽で表現した。軽さと自然由来の雰囲気のある音色や音域を中心にした、リラックスできるような楽曲。

＜#3 / 外気浴スペース＞
2種類の新潟の環境音を用いた2曲を空間内に同時に再生。ふたつの音楽と水風呂の音楽が、ととのいスペース内で混ざり合うことで、いる位置によって音楽の聞こえ方が変化し、より自然空間に近い体験になる。

森のととのい

新潟市の西海岸公園の森で録音した、鳥の鳴き声・木々のざわめきを環境音として使用。また、アコースティックギターのハーモニクスやアルペジオを使用し、森の中でととのっている雰囲気を演出。

川のととのい

信濃川で録音した、川の流れる音を環境音として使用。また、マリンバやクラリネットを使用し、石がコロコロ動くイメージや、風が吹いているイメージを表現。川でととのっている雰囲気を演出。

＜#4 / 水風呂＞
ピアノ、パーカッション、マリンバ、マンドリン、スティールパン、信濃川の音を使用。水温がより涼やかに感じられるような、中・高音域にフォーカスした音色・音域。間隔を十分にあけつつ、水の波紋が広がるように音を配置。浴室の環境音や自然残響が混ざり合うことで完成する。

＜#5 / 小サウナ＞
バイオリン、ピアノ、モジュラーシンセサイザーを使用。草の香りをイメージしたバイオリンのフレーズ、新潟の雪が降るイメージのピアノの旋律、呼吸のリズムを表現したシンセサイザーの音色を用いた、瞑想的な雰囲気の楽曲。砂時計のようにバイオリンとマリンバのフレーズは3分ごとに鳴る機能性を持たせた。

＜#6 / 大サウナ＞

アコースティックギター、マンドリン、クラリネット、尺八、パーカッション、シンセベース、環境音などを使用。海のリズムと森の呼吸をテーマに、自身の内側に潜るような低音と外と繋がっているような雰囲気が両立する帯域や音色を混成。様々な音の奥行きがある、サウナ内の自然なコミュニケーションを促すような開放的な楽曲。

Music for "sauna 100 (Sauna Hundred)" that an urban sauna at Niigata Station.

​​

The concepts of the music are "Refreshed with Music", "City and Nature in Niigata" and "Tranquility".

​We inspired by the city and nature in Niigata, a cycle of sauna and the interior design, and composed six songs.

​​

The music, "Song that allows you to concentrate and feel tranquility with the sound flowing" and "Song that makes you feel connected to the city and nature", unique to this location continues to shift from one to the other, but blends harmoniously in the space. We aim to create a musical experience that made each space feel seamlessly connected.

​<#1 / Bar Lounge>
The instruments are trumpet, drums, acoustic guitar, violin. A calming and warming piece with trumpet inspired by the context of jazz in Niigata, and rhythm and percussion to get the conversation going and the drinks flowing.

​

​<#2 / Changing Room>
The instruments are electric guitar, clarinet, piano, drums. We expressed the colors and textures of the cityscape and interior design of Niigata City with the music. The music is relaxing, focusing on tones and registers with a lightness and nature-derived atmosphere.

<#3 / Outdoor Air Bathing>
Two pieces of music using two types of Niigata environmental sounds are played simultaneously in the space. The two pieces of music and the music of the water bath are blended together in the Outdoor Air Bathing, changing the way the music is heard depending on where you are, creating an experience that is closer to a natural space.

Refreshed in Woods

We used birdsong and rustling of trees as sound elements, recorded in the forests of Niigata City's West Coast Park. Also, we used harmonics and arpeggios of acoustic guitar to create like an atmosphere of relaxation in the forest.

​

Refreshed in River

We used the sound of a flowing river as sound elements, recorded at the Shinano River. Also, we expressed stones rolling around and the wind blowing with marimba and clarinet, to create like an atmosphere of relaxation in the river.

​

​<#4 / Cold Bath>

The instruments are piano, percussion, marimba, mandolin, steelpan, and the sound of the Shinano River. Tones and registers focused on the mid and high frequencies to make you feel the water temperature  cooler. The sounds are spaced well apart, as if ripples of water are spreading. The environmental sounds of the bathroom and the reverberations of nature mix with the music to complete this piece.

​<#5 / Small Sauna>
The instruments are ​violin, piano, modular synthesizer. This piece has a meditative atmosphere, using violin phrases evoked the scent of grass, a piano melody evoked the snow falling in Niigata, and synthesizer tones expressed the rhythm of breathing. Like an hourglass, the violin and marimba phrases were made functional by sounding every three minutes.

​<#6 / Large Sauna>
The instruments are acoustic guitar, mandolin, clarinet, shakuhachi, percussion, synth bass, and environmental sounds.

With the theme of ocean rhythms and forest breath, the bandwidth and tones are mixed to create an atmosphere that is both bass-like, as if diving inside oneself, and connected to the outside world. The piece with a variety of sound depths that encourages natural communication within the sauna.
