​

複数の音楽/スピーカーを使った空間デザイン。

箱根・芦ノ湖畔にオープンした、ドッグフレンドリーホテル「RETONA HAKONE（リトナ箱根）」の夏の音楽。

​​

音楽コンセプトは「フレンドリー」「ボーダレス」「ナチュラル」。

犬の可聴域や聴覚特性をふまえた音域や落ち着くテンポを取り入れつつ、内装デザインと調和するような自然由来の楽器を使用。

 

人間も犬も落ち着いて快適に過ごせるような、この場所ならではの自然あふれる空気感と高級感のある洗練された雰囲気の両立を目指した。それぞれの楽曲はズレ続けながらも調和し合い、空間同士がつながり、外部と内部が曖昧になるような音楽体験が形作られる。

また、館内各所の小型スピーカーや人感センサー付きスピーカー、客室TVの音楽は四季に合わせて更新予定。

マリンバ、クラリネット、アコースティックギターを使用。箱根神社の朝の静けさや、澄んだ空気感や雰囲気を音楽で表現。単音のマリンバのぽつぽつとしたフレーズや、朝の鳥の鳴き声をイメージしたギターの演奏などを織り交ぜた、穏やかで安らかな雰囲気の楽曲。

 

#2 / 昼 12:00-18:00

アコースティックギター、ピアノ、バイオリン、サックス、パーカッションなどを使用。芦ノ湖周辺の豊かな大自然を音楽で表現。透明感のある和音や晴れやかな空気のような音色をベースに、動きのあるフレーズを時折織り交ぜた、ひらけた雰囲気の楽曲。

 

#3 / 夜 18:00-24:00

ピアノ、マリンバ、アコースティックギター、ハープなどを使用。芦ノ湖の波や水を音楽で表現。ゆっくり広がる湖の波紋をイメージしたギターのトレモロや、夕方～夜にかけて変化する湖の色（ブルー、ネイビー）をスティールパンのフレーズで表現。夜の落ち着いた芦ノ湖の雰囲気を音楽で表現した楽曲。

ピアノ、マリンバ、アコースティックギター、ハープシコード、リローネ、エレクトリックベース、パーカッション、ドラムなどを使用。動きのあるフレーズや内装デザインから着想した丸みのある音色を組み合わせた、有機的で爽やかな楽曲。

 

#5 / 昼

アコースティックギター、マリンバ、クラリネット、シタール、パーカッション、ベース、ドラムなどを使用。ライムストーンやロームをイメージし、少し砂や石を思わせるシタールのフレーズ、風をイメージしたドラムロールとベースのリズムを組み合わせた、柔らかく、カラフルな楽曲。

 

#6 / 夜

クラリネット、ピアノ、エレクトリックギター、バイオリン、キーボード、エレクトリックベース、ドラム、パーカッションなどを使用。それぞれの音同士の遠近感を持たせつつ、膨らみのある中低音フレーズを織り交ぜた、広がりある落ち着いたトーンの楽曲。

ピアノ、ハープシコード、エレクトリックベース、ドラムなどを使用。少しグルーヴのある数種類のリズムをベースに、外気に当たっているような伸びやかな雰囲気を音楽で表現。前進感のある、清々しい雰囲気の楽曲。

マリンバ、ギロ、ビブラフォン、タンバリン、アップライトベースなどを使用。マリンバのキャッチーなメロディーとドラム＋ベースのリズムを主体に、犬が駆け出したくなるような疾走感のある楽しい雰囲気の楽曲。

 

#9 / 夜

ホンキートンクピアノ、アコースティックギター、エレクトリックシタール、オルガン、エレクトリックベース、ドラム、パーカッションなどを使用。夜風に揺れる木々の音を感じながら、自然豊かな小径を散歩するような雰囲気を音楽で表現。ラテン風のリズムを点在させた、少し跳ねるような軽やかな楽曲。​

バイオリン、レインスティック、ウッドパーカッション、夏の環境音などを使用。バイオリンのピッチカートの音の粒の連なりのようなフレーズで紫陽花を表現。フェードインする音色でホタルの光を表現した、幻想的な楽曲。​

ウクレレ、スティールパン、夏の環境音（早雲寺のヒメハルゼミの鳴き声、夏鳥の鳴き声、リトナ周辺の森の音）を使用。夏の箱根の森をイメージ。ウクレレのハーモニクスやバッキングをベースにした、箱根の夏の午後の空気感を感じられる楽曲。​

ハープ、ウクレレ、夏の環境音などを使用。夏の星座をイメージ。ハープの神秘的な音色と即興演奏、フクロウの鳴き声などを組みわせた、神秘的で幻想的な雰囲気の楽曲。

クラリネット、アコースティックギター、夏の環境音（ヌエ、フクロウの鳴き声）などを使用。夏の爽やかな風を表現したクラリネットの持続音、箱根の森の午後～夜の環境音を組みわせた、夜の森を散策しているような静寂で自然を感じられる楽曲。

バイオリン、シンセベース、ホワイトノイズを使用。木々のざわめきや枝を移動する虫を音楽で表現。摘んでいくような単音フレーズと面的なノイズが交差する、生き物のような楽曲。

エレクトリックピアノ、パーカッションを使用。緩やかな夕風を音楽で表現。少し起伏のある音色の柔らかな手触り感のある楽曲。

キーボード、シンセサイザー、ブラウンノイズを使用。鳥の鳴き声や森のざわめきを音楽で表現。断片的なフレーズや段々と聴こえてくるようなフレーズを組み合わせた、奥行きのある楽曲。

クラリネット、マリンバを使用。箱根の朝の靄や、朝の光をイメージ。マリンバのトレモロを主体に、クラリネットの短いフレーズを組み合わせた澄んだ空気感のある凛とした雰囲気の楽曲。

エレクトリックピアノ、アコースティックギターを使用。箱根湯本の街の灯りをイメージ。ジャズのコード感を出したエレピのハーモニーとフレーズに、灯りをイメージしたアコースティックギターのハーモニクスを組み合わせた、メロウで抽象的な雰囲気の楽曲。

アコースティックギターを使用。箱根の朝日や、木々から差し込む光と影をイメージ。トレモロ奏法や、和音の残響、アルペジオなど様々な奏法を用いた、朝の静けさ・暖かさやまどろみを表現した楽曲。

バイオリン、スティールパン、アコースティックギターを使用。午後の小鳥の群れの移動や鳴き声などをイメージ。バイオリンのピッチカートのフレーズを軸に、マリンバの細かいパッセージなどを組みわせた、可愛らしい雰囲気の楽曲。

パーカッション、クラリネットなどを使用。箱根の虫や花粉をイメージ。様々なパーカッションの音を組み合わせ、花粉が舞う様子や、虫の移動をイメージしたリズムを組み合わせた、不思議でリズミカルな雰囲気の楽曲。

ビブラフォン、バイオリン、フルートなどを使用。箱根の植物をイメージ。ビブラフォンの残響や、時折見せるフルートのフレーズ、バイオリンのハーモニーなどを組みわせた、まるで箱根の植物たちが歌っているようなイメージで作曲した楽曲。

バイオリン、ピアノ、クラリネットなどを使用。バイオリン、ピアノ、クラリネットファゴットなどを使用。ロープウェーから見える、周辺の森をイメージ。リズムのあるバイオリンのフレーズや、それに絡み合う木管楽器の音色を合わせた、高揚感と抽象的な雰囲気の楽曲。

エントランスの朝昼夜の天井スピーカーの音楽をベースに、各所の小型スピーカーのフレーズや和音、季節の環境音をリミックスした楽曲。

Spatial design using multiple music/speakers.
Summer music for "RETONA HAKONE", a dog-friendly hotel newly opened by Lake Ashi in Hakone.

​​​

The music concepts are "Friendly", "Borderless" and "Natural".
Incorporating frequency ranges and calming tempos suited to dogs’ hearing characteristics, the music also features naturally derived instruments that harmonize with the interior design.

 

The aim was to create an atmosphere unique to this location, balancing an abundance of nature with refined luxury, where both humans and dogs can relax in comfort. Each piece continues to shift out of sync while remaining in harmony, connecting the various spaces and shaping a musical experience in which the boundaries between indoors and outdoors become gently blurred.

 

Additionally, the music played from the small speakers throughout the building, the motion-sensor speakers, and the guest room TVs will be updated in accordance with the four seasons.

The instruments are marimba, clarinet, and acoustic guitar. The music expresses the quiet morning atmosphere of Hakone Shrine and the clarity of the surrounding air, weaving together gently spaced marimba phrases and guitar passages inspired by birdsong to create a calm and peaceful ambiance.

The instruments are acoustic guitar, piano, violin, saxophone, and percussion. The music expresses the rich natural surroundings of Lake Ashi, built on transparent harmonies and tones that evoke bright, open air, with occasional flowing phrases that add a sense of movement and expansiveness.

#3 / Evening 18:00–24:00
The instruments are piano, marimba, acoustic guitar, harp, and steelpan. The music expresses the waves and water of Lake Ashi, featuring guitar tremolo that suggests slowly expanding ripples and steelpan phrases that reflect the changing evening colors of the lake, creating a calm and reflective nighttime atmosphere.

The music is inspired by limestone and loam, blending sitar phrases that evoke the texture of sand and stone with drum rolls and bass rhythms reminiscent of wind moving through an open landscape, resulting in a soft and colorful atmosphere.

The instruments are clarinet, piano, electric guitar, violin, keyboard, electric bass, drums, and percussion. The music creates a calm and expansive tone by incorporating a sense of depth between sounds and weaving in rich mid-low melodic phrases.

The instruments are piano, harpsichord, electric bass, and drums. The music is based on several lightly grooving rhythmic patterns and expresses an open, breezy atmosphere, as if feeling the fresh outdoor air. The piece has a sense of forward motion and a clear, refreshing mood.

 

#8 / Daytime
The instruments are marimba, guiro, vibraphone, tambourine, and upright bass. The music centers on a catchy marimba melody and a rhythmic　foundation of drums and bass, creating a lively and playful atmosphere with a sense of motion that makes dogs feel like running.

 

#9 / Night
The instruments are honky-tonk piano, acoustic guitar, electric sitar, organ, electric bass, drums, and percussion. The music evokes the feeling of strolling along a nature-filled path while listening to trees rustling in the night breeze. Light Latin-style rhythms are woven throughout, giving the piece a gently bouncing and airy character.​

The instruments are marimba, classical guitar, rainstick, and summer field recordings (summer rain, the hotel's forest ambience, and the sounds of the Kuzuryu Suijin spring). Inspired by summer rain and sunshine in Hakone, this piece evokes a refreshing and tranquil atmosphere.

 

#11 / A (Sunset)
The instruments are violin, rainstick, wood percussion, and summer field recordings. Hydrangeas are expressed through cascading violin pizzicato phrases, while softly fading tones evoke the glow of fireflies, creating a dreamy and atmospheric composition.

 

#12 / B (Daytime)
The instruments are ukulele, steel pan, and summer field recordings (the calls of Himeharu cicadas at Sounji Temple, summer birds, and the forests around LITONA Hakone). Inspired by Hakone's summer forests, the piece is built around ukulele harmonics and backing patterns, capturing the atmosphere of a summer afternoon.

 

#13 / B (Sunset)
The instruments are harp, ukulele, and summer field recordings. Inspired by the summer constellations, the piece combines the harp's mystical timbre, improvised performances, and owl calls to create an ethereal and dreamlike atmosphere.

 

#14 / C (Daytime)
The instruments are steel pan, water drum, Otamatone, clarinet, and summer field recordings (frog calls). Inspired by the wildlife of Hakone in summer, the piece incorporates fresh, flowing rhythms to create a bright and refreshing atmosphere.

 

#15 / C (Sunset)
The instruments are clarinet, acoustic guitar, and summer field recordings (the calls of the nue and owls). Sustained clarinet tones evoke the gentle summer breeze, while the ambience of Hakone's forests from afternoon into night creates the feeling of quietly walking through the nighttime woods.

#16 / D (Daytime)
The instruments are electric guitar, keyboard, whistle, and summer field recordings. Inspired by the wind around Lake Ashi, the piece combines improvised performances with the sounds of rain and birds to create a tranquil atmosphere.

 

#17 / D (Sunset)
The instruments are mandolin, laouto, and bamboo chimes. Inspired by the wind around Lake Ashi, spacious chords emerge at measured intervals, creating a sense of depth and distance.

 

#18 / D (Daytime)
The instruments are acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and summer field recordings. Inspired by the songs of Hakone's summer birds, the piece features alternating guitar phrases that create a fresh and uplifting atmosphere.

 

#19 / E (Sunset)
The instruments are electric bass, violin, keyboard, and summer field recordings. Inspired by the texture and softness of the earth, the piece combines improvised phrases into an organic musical landscape.

 

#20 / Restroom A (Daytime)
The instruments are acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, and summer field recordings. Inspired by Lake Ashi in the morning, the piece combines gently wet, rippling tones to create a floating, spacious atmosphere.

The instruments are marimba, honky-tonk piano, violin, steel pan, and summer field recordings. Inspired by Lake Ashi at night, the piece creates a serene atmosphere in which sounds gently extend into the surrounding space.

The instruments are acoustic guitar, clarinet, keyboard, piano, and summer field recordings. Inspired by the morning forest, the piece combines birdsong with phrases reminiscent of a passing breeze, creating a light and airy atmosphere.

The instruments are acoustic guitar, electric guitar, acoustic bass, and summer field recordings. Inspired by the nighttime forest, layered sounds with a strong sense of depth create a profound and immersive atmosphere.

The instruments are tenor saxophone and percussion. Inspired by the gentle summer breeze and the swaying of trees, the motion-activated speaker randomly plays one of 17 short compositions whenever someone passes by.

The instruments are clarinet, violin, flute, oboe, and bassoon. Inspired by the songs of summer birds, expressed through woodwind instruments, the motion-activated speaker randomly plays one of 22 short compositions whenever someone passes by.

The instruments are güiro, shaker, clarinet, and bass. Inspired by the sounds of Hakone's summer insects, interpreted through percussion and bass, the motion-activated speaker randomly plays one of 13 short compositions whenever someone passes by.

The instruments are acoustic guitar and percussion. The music expresses the wind passing through the open air, combining improvisational phrases in irregular patterns to create a light atmosphere like morning mist.

The instruments are electric guitar and percussion. The music expresses sunlight, based on improvisation with pale tones that shimmer and gently waver in a minimal texture.

The instruments are violin, synth bass, and white noise. The music expresses the rustling of trees and insects moving along branches, where plucked single-note phrases intersect with surface-like noise textures to create a living, breathing presence.

The instruments are vibraphone, violin, and flute. The music is inspired by the plants of Hakone, combining vibraphone resonance, occasional flute phrases, and violin harmonies, as if the plants themselves were softly singing.

The instruments are violin, piano, clarinet, and bassoon. The music is inspired by the surrounding forests as seen from the ropeway, combining rhythmic violin phrases with interweaving woodwind tones to create a piece that blends a sense of uplift with an abstract atmosphere.

The instruments are piano, electric guitar, percussion, and glass. The music evokes refracted light through glass and the outdoor air, combining delicate ripple-like tones with more active textures to create a floating yet calm atmosphere.
