複数の音楽/スピーカーを使った空間デザイン。
沖縄県本部町にある、オリオンビールが手がけるリゾートホテル「The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort & Spa」の音楽。

​

音楽の全体コンセプトは「Emerald Beach」「やんばる」「沖縄の光と風」。

ホテルの目の前に広がるエメラルドビーチ、やんばるの原生林、沖縄北部の自然や時間の移ろいから着想。

 

朝・昼・夜で緩やかに音楽の質感や空気感が変化していき、館内全体でひとつの有機的な音楽体験を形作る。透明感や開放感、自然の生命力、非日常感を感じられるような、リゾート空間に寄り添う音楽を目指した。

 

また、1F レストランの音楽「Songs for The Orion Brasserie & Table」、3F ショップの音楽「Songs for The Store & Journey」との調性を合わせることで、ホテルの各エリアのそれぞれの楽曲はズレ続けながらも調和し合い、様々な要素が交差し合うような音楽体験を作った。

エリアごとの段階的なリニューアルオープンに合わせて、順次リリース予定。

#1 / 朝
エレクトリック／アコースティックギター、エレクトリックベース、スティールパン、ピアノ、マリンバ、バイオリン、チャランゴ、パーカッションなどを使用。各音色が重なり合い、全体の音像のカラーが緩やかに推移する構成。エメラルドビーチを想起させる透明感のある響きと、やんばるの原生林を思わせる質感を組み合わせ、余白による空間的な広がりを持たせた楽曲。

#2 / 昼
スティールパン、ハープ、マリンバ、マンドリン、エレクトリックギター、シンセサイザー、ピアノ、パーカッション、アコースティックギターなどを使用。エメラルドビーチのカラーや夕陽、北部の自然をイメージ。様々な弦楽器で、移り変わる波の色合いを表現。また、打楽器の粒のようなフレーズで光の煌めきを表現。楽しさや落ち着き、爽やかさ、ロマンティックな雰囲気が同居するような楽曲。

 

#3 / 夜
エレクトリックギター、ピアノ、マリンバ、スティールパン、アコースティックベース、エレクトリックシタール、スリットドラム、ティンパニなどを使用。伊江島に日が沈んでいく様子や雄大なザトウクジラを音楽で表現。夜間の客室廊下やEV内でも非日常を感じられるような音楽体験を目指した。音色同士がゆっくりと立ち上がっては消えていく、深淵を漂うよう生き物のような楽曲。

ピアノ、エレクトリックピアノ、バイオリン、マリンバ、スティールパンを使用。ジャズのコード感を取り入れたピアノの和音とゆったりとした間合いを用いて、エレガンスさ・高級感を出した楽曲。

ピアノ、ガットギター、ハープ、エレクトリックピアノ、三線、バイオリン、パーカッションなどを使用。夜のエメラルドビーチを音楽で表現。薄いもやのような、少しエキゾチックな雰囲気の柔らかい楽曲。

アコースティックギター、スティールパン、シェイカーを使用。海辺に吹く、朝の陽光や潮風を音楽で表現。即興をベースにした、有機的なフレーズを散りばめた。軽やかに浮遊し通り抜ける、爽やかな風のような楽曲。

#10 / 日没
エレクトリックピアノ、パーカッションを使用。エメラルドビーチから見える夕陽の色の移り変わりを音楽で表現。エレピの音の波を加工し、じんわりとした光に包まれるようなゆったりとした楽曲。

 

#11 / 日中
スティールパン、クラリネット、アコーディオンを使用。備瀬崎海岸のモスグリーンな苔とパステルカラーの波の模様をイメージ。スティールパンの短い即興やフレーズを多用し、波の反射の模様を表現した、穏やかな波のリズムを感じられる楽曲。

 

#12 / 日没
エレクトリックピアノ、ピアノ、シンセベース、フルート、マリンバ、チェロ、キーボード、パーカッションなどを使用。夜風に乗るようなイメージを音楽で表現。フェイザーを効かせた鍵盤の和音をベースに、細かいフレーズを点在させた。まどろむような、ゆったりとした楽曲。

ピアノ、ウドゥ、バイオリン、三線、レインスティックを使用。光がゆっくりと差し込み、波がゆっくりと寄せては返すようなイメージを音楽で表現。落ち着いた、繊細な雰囲気の楽曲。

#14 / 日没
サックス、マリンバ、シェイカーを使用。サックスの音色をリバーブ処理し、ホテルの夜の灯りを表現した、ノスタルジーで幻想的な楽曲。

 

＜ウェルカムテラス＞

#35 / Calm
エレクトリックベース、アコースティック／エレクトリックギター、エレクトリックピアノ、ハープシコード、ドラム、パーカッションを使用。凪のような静けさを音楽で表現。南アフリカ音楽や中南米音楽の要素を混ぜ合わせた。少し高揚感がありつつも、落ち着いた洗練された雰囲気を感じられる楽曲。

アコースティックギター、パーカッション、ベース、ドラム、トランペットなどを使用。キューバ音楽風のリズムと琉球音楽のリズム、パーカッションをたくさんミックスした、陽気で楽しげな雰囲気の楽曲。

 

#37 / High
エレクトリックギター、キーボード、シンセサイザー、ベース、パーカッションなどを使用。少し早めのBPMで、ラテン、フュージョン、AORなどのジャンルをベースに、様々なリズムセクションをチャンプルーした楽曲。夜が一番盛り上がるような、お酒がすすむトロピカルでダンサブルな楽曲。

 

#38 / Chill
マンドリン、シンセサイザー、ピアノ、シンセベース、ドラムなどを使用。夜の海の深淵さを音楽で表現。R&B的なリズムや和音を基調にしつつ、奥行きのある弦の響きが立ち表れては消えていく、エキゾチックかつ幽玄な余韻に浸れるような雰囲気を目指した。即興的なフレーズがゆるやかに流れていくような、リラックスした楽曲。

エレクトリック／アコースティックギター、スティールパン、エレクトリック／シンセベース、チャランゴ、ウクレレ、バイオリン、ドラム、パーカッションなどを使用。水が飛び跳ねる様子や爽快な風が吹き抜けるような情景を音楽で表現。クラブ向けの少し落ち着いた雰囲気を持たせつつ、南国風の様々なリズムも散りばめ、随所に高揚感や非日常感を演出した楽曲。

#40 / 日没
ピアノ、トランペット、バイオリン、マリンバ、シンバル、鈴などを使用。夕景から夜のプールから見たビーチの空気感をイメージ。ピアノの夜風を思わせるトレモロや、琉球庭園の木々のざわめきのような鈴のリズムなどを用いて、洗練された雰囲気と自然の中で瞑想しているような雰囲気の両面を持たせた楽曲。

＜アウトドアプール、インドアプール＞

#44 / Calm
エレクトリックギター、バイオリン、ピアノ、ハープ、エレクトリックベース、パーカッションを使用。穏やかな波の様子を音楽で表現。有機的な弦の即興演奏を下地に、60～70年代のソウル風のベースラインや軽やかなフレーズを散りばめた。沖縄らしいゆったりとした、明るい雰囲気の楽曲。

 

#45 / Fun
マリンバ、スティールパン、クラリネット、マンドリン、エレクトリック／シンセベース、ハープシコード、シロフォン、アコースティックギター、ドラム、パーカッションなどを使用。ダイビングの多彩な水中景観を音楽で表現。マーチングのトレインリズムなどを取り入れた、楽しげで活きいきとした快い楽曲。

エレクトリックギター、キーボード、シンセサイザー、ベース、パーカッション、スティールパンなどを使用。中南米風のチャキチャキリズムやソウル、チルウェイブ、クラブミュージック、ハイパーポップ、ボサノヴァ、琉球舞踊など様々なジャンルをクレオールした、高揚感のある、楽しい雰囲気の楽曲。

#47 / Chill
シンセサイザー、エレクトリックギター、パーカッション、アルトサックスなどを使用。パープル色に陽が落ちた幻想的なプールサイドをイメージ。プールサイドでリラックスできるような、トロピカルで心地いい落ち着きがある雰囲気の楽曲。リラックスモードに切り替わるように、他の3曲と楽曲キーを変更した。

Spatial design using multiple music/speakers.

Music for The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort and Spa.

 

The overall music concept is "Emerald Beach", "Yanbaru" and "The Light and Wind of Okinawa".
Inspired by Emerald Beach stretching out in front of the hotel, the subtropical forests of Yanbaru, and the changing nature and rhythms of time in northern Okinawa.

​

The texture and atmosphere of the music gradually transform from morning to daytime and night, forming a single organic musical experience throughout the hotel. The project aimed to create a resort-oriented soundscape that conveys transparency, openness, vitality, and a sense of escape from everyday life.

 

We also aligned the tonalities of the compositions with those of "Songs for The Orion Brasserie & Table", the music for the first-floor restaurant, and "Songs for The Store & Journey", the music for the third-floor shop. As a result, the compositions throughout the hotel remain in harmony even as they continuously drift out of sync with one another, creating a musical experience in which diverse elements intersect and coexist organically.

The release will be rolled out sequentially in accordance with the phased renewal of each area.

#1 / Morning

The instruments are electric/acoustic guitar, electric bass, steelpan, piano, marimba, violin, charango, and percussion. The music is structured so that each timbre overlaps, allowing the overall sonic color to gradually evolve over time. It combines the transparent resonance evoking Emerald Beach with an organic texture reminiscent of Yanbaru’s primeval forests, creating a spacious soundscape shaped by negative space and openness.

 

#2 / Daytime

The instruments are steelpan, harp, marimba, mandolin, electric guitar, synthesizer, piano, percussion, and acoustic guitar. The music is inspired by the colors of Emerald Beach, the sunset, and the natural environment of northern Okinawa. Various string instruments express the shifting hues of ocean waves, while percussive, particle-like phrases convey the shimmer of light. The piece blends joy, calmness, freshness, and romance within a single unified atmosphere.

 

#3 / Night

The instruments are electric guitar, piano, marimba, steelpan, acoustic bass, electric sitar, slit drum, and timpani. The music expresses the imagery of the sun setting over Iejima and the majesty of humpback whales. It is designed as an immersive nocturnal experience that can be felt even in corridors and elevators, where sound layers slowly emerge and dissolve, forming an organic, living sonic flow that drifts in depth.

#7 / Daytime
The instruments are piano, electric piano, violin, marimba, and steel pan. The music creates a sense of elegance and luxury through piano chords with a jazz-inspired harmonic feel and spacious, unhurried phrasing.

#8/ Sunset
The instruments are piano, gut guitar, harp, electric piano, sanshin, violin, and percussion. The music expresses Emerald Beach at night, creating a soft, slightly exotic atmosphere reminiscent of a thin veil of mist.

<Ocean Wing (Reception / Small Speakers)>

 

#9/ Daytime
The instruments are acoustic guitar, steel pan, and shaker. The music expresses the morning sunlight and sea breeze along the coast, with organic, improvisation-based phrases scattered throughout. The track evokes a refreshing breeze, floating lightly through the air.

 

#10/ Sunset
The instruments are electric piano and percussion. The music expresses the changing colors of the sunset seen from Emerald Beach. Processed waves of electric piano create a slow, gentle atmosphere, as if being enveloped in a soft glow.

 

#11/ Daytime
The instruments are steel pan, clarinet, and accordion. The music is inspired by the moss-green tones of Bisezaki Beach and the patterns of its pastel-colored waves. Frequent short improvisations and phrases on the steel pan evoke the reflections of waves, creating a gentle, flowing rhythm.

 

#12/ Sunset
The instruments are electric piano, piano, synth bass, flute, marimba, cello, keyboard, and percussion. The music evokes the sensation of drifting on the night breeze. Phaser-treated keyboard chords form the foundation, with delicate phrases scattered throughout, creating a slow, dreamlike atmosphere.

#13/ Daytime
The instruments are piano, udu, violin, sanshin, and rainstick. The music evokes sunlight slowly filtering through and waves gently rolling in and receding. A calm and delicate atmosphere runs throughout the track.

#14/ Sunset
The instruments are saxophone, marimba, and shaker. Reverb-treated saxophone evokes the lights of the hotel at night, creating a nostalgic and dreamlike atmosphere.

<Welcome Terrace>

​

#35/ Calm
The instruments are electric bass, acoustic/electric guitar, electric piano, harpsichord, drums, and percussion. The music expresses the stillness of calm waters. Elements of South African and Latin American music are blended together, creating a track that feels both subtly uplifting and calm, with a sophisticated atmosphere.

​

#36/ Fun
The instruments are acoustic guitar, percussion, bass, drums, and trumpet. Cuban-style rhythms are blended with Ryukyuan rhythms and a wide variety of percussion, creating a cheerful and playful atmosphere.

 

#37/ High
The instruments are electric guitar, keyboard, synthesizer, bass, and percussion. Built around a slightly faster BPM, the track blends various rhythmic elements based on Latin music, fusion, and AOR. A tropical and danceable track designed to build toward the most energetic atmosphere of the night and complement an evening of drinks.

#38/ Chill
The instruments are mandolin, synthesizer, piano, synth bass, and drums. The music expresses the depth of the ocean at night. R&B-inspired rhythms and harmonies form the foundation, while deep, spacious string textures emerge and fade away, creating an exotic and ethereal atmosphere. Improvisational phrases flow gently throughout, creating a relaxed and immersive track.

<Infinity Pool>

​

#39/ Daytime
The instruments are electric/acoustic guitar, steel pan, electric/synth bass, charango, ukulele, violin, drums, and percussion. The music evokes the sensation of splashing water and a refreshing breeze blowing through. While maintaining a slightly laid-back atmosphere suited to the club, various tropical rhythms are woven throughout to create moments of exhilaration and a sense of escape from everyday life.

#40/ Sunset
The instruments are piano, trumpet, violin, marimba, cymbals, and bells. The music evokes the atmosphere of the beach as seen from the pool from sunset into the night. Piano tremolos reminiscent of the night breeze and bell rhythms suggesting the rustling trees of a Ryukyuan garden create a track that combines sophistication with the feeling of meditating in nature.

<Outdoor Pool, Indoor Pool>

​​

#44/ Calm
The instruments are electric guitar, violin, piano, harp, electric bass, and percussion. The music expresses the gentle movement of calm waves. Organic string improvisations form the foundation, layered with soul-inspired basslines and light phrases reminiscent of the 1960s and 70s. The track has a relaxed, bright atmosphere with a distinctly Okinawan character.

 

#45/ Fun
The instruments are marimba, steel pan, clarinet, mandolin, electric/synth bass, harpsichord, xylophone, acoustic guitar, drums, and percussion. The music expresses the diverse underwater scenery experienced while diving. Marching-style train rhythms and other elements create a lively, playful, and refreshing atmosphere.

 

#46/ High
The instruments are electric guitar, keyboard, synthesizer, bass, percussion, and steel pan. The track blends a wide range of genres, including Latin-inspired rhythms, soul, chillwave, club music, hyperpop, bossa nova, and Ryukyuan dance music, creating an energetic and uplifting atmosphere.

 

#47/ Chill
The instruments are synthesizer, electric guitar, percussion, and alto saxophone. The music evokes a dreamy poolside as the sun sets into shades of purple. It creates a tropical, comfortable, and relaxed atmosphere designed for unwinding by the poolside. The key was changed from the other three tracks to signal a transition into a more relaxed mode.
