​

複数の音楽/スピーカーを使った空間デザイン。

沖縄県本部町にある、オリオンビールが手がけるリゾートホテル「The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort & Spa」の3F ショップ「The Store & Journey」の音楽。

​

音楽の全体コンセプトは「Emerald Beach」「やんばる」「沖縄の光と風」。

ホテルの目の前に広がるエメラルドビーチ、やんばるの原生林、沖縄北部の自然や時間の移ろいから着想。

 

朝・昼・夜で緩やかに音楽の質感や空気感が変化していき、館内全体でひとつの有機的な音楽体験を形作る。透明感や開放感、自然の生命力、非日常感を感じられるような、リゾート空間に寄り添う音楽を目指した。

 

また、館内全体の音楽「Songs for The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort & Spa」、1F レストランの音楽「Songs for The Orion Brasserie & Table」との調性を合わせることで、ホテルの各エリアのそれぞれの楽曲はズレ続けながらも調和し合い、様々な要素が交差し合うような音楽体験を作った。

#4 / 朝
アコースティックギター、フルート、ピアノ、シンセサイザー、スティールパン、ドラム、ベース、サックス、パーランクー、エレクトリックギターなどを使用。ブラシやウッドスティック、金物などで、屋台や市場の活気を表現。オリオンショップ～沖縄市場をイメージしたセクションが交互に入れ替わるように構成。ボサノヴァやフラメンコのコードを用いた、朝の爽やかな光を感じられるような多幸感のある楽曲。

#5 / 昼
クラリネット、エレクトリックベース、エレクトリックギター、ピアノ、スティールパン、マリンバ、バイオリン、カリンバ、エレクトリックピアノ、シンセベース、ウドゥなどを使用。琉球の生き物たちを多種多様な音色で表現。各楽器が緩急をつけながら呼応し合い、歌いあっているような、生命力あふれる雰囲気を目指した。自然の中にいるような楽曲。

#6 / 夜
エレクトリックピアノ、スティールパン、シンセサイザー、アコースティックギター、ウォータードラム、クラリネット、エレクトリックギター、パーカッションなどを使用。夜の屋台の灯りのようなピアノなどのフレーズ、波の周期のようなコンガとシェイカーのリズム、エメラルドビーチを想起させるようなギターやサックスのソロなど、夜の砂浜を散策しているような、幻想的かつ開放的な楽曲。​​​

Spatial design using multiple music/speakers.

Music for "The Store & Journey", the third-floor shop at "The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort and Spa", a resort hotel developed by Orion Breweries in Motobu, Okinawa.

 

The overall music concept is "Emerald Beach", "Yanbaru" and "The Light and Wind of Okinawa". Inspired by Emerald Beach stretching out in front of the hotel, the subtropical forests of Yanbaru, and the changing nature and rhythms of time in northern Okinawa.

The texture and atmosphere of the music gradually transform from morning to daytime and night, forming a single organic musical experience throughout the hotel. The project aimed to create a resort-oriented soundscape that conveys transparency, openness, vitality, and a sense of escape from everyday life.

​

We also aligned the tonalities of the compositions with those of "Songs for The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort & Spa", the music for the entire hotel, and "Songs for The Orion Brasserie & Table", the music for the first-floor restaurant. As a result, the compositions throughout the hotel remain in harmony even as they continuously drift out of sync with one another, creating a musical experience in which diverse elements intersect and coexist organically.

#4 / Morning

The instruments are acoustic guitar, flute, piano, synthesizer, steelpan, drums, bass, saxophone, paranku, and electric guitar. The music uses brushes, woodsticks, and metallic percussion to express the liveliness of street stalls and local markets. The structure alternates between sections inspired by the Orion shop and Okinawan markets. It features bossa nova and flamenco-inspired harmonies, creating a joyful, sunlit morning atmosphere.

#5 / Daytime

The instruments are clarinet, electric bass, electric guitar, piano, steelpan, marimba, violin, kalimba, electric piano, synth bass, and udu. The music expresses the diverse life of Ryukyu through a wide range of timbres. Each instrument responds to others with shifting dynamics, as if singing and conversing together, forming a vibrant and life-filled atmosphere. The composition is improvisation-based, evoking a sense of being immersed in nature.

 

#6 / Night

The instruments are electric piano, steelpan, synthesizer, acoustic guitar, water drum, clarinet, electric guitar, and percussion. The music features piano-like motifs reminiscent of lantern-lit night stalls, along with conga and shaker rhythms that resemble ocean wave cycles. Guitar and saxophone phrases evoke Emerald Beach, creating a piece that feels like wandering along a night shoreline—both mystical and open in atmosphere.
